The Gronings Technologen Dispuut Bernoulli was founded on the 20th of May, 1985 and is the study association for students with an interest in process and product technology. Although G.T.D. Bernoulli consists mainly of Chemical Engineering students, also students from related studies as Industrial Engineering are welcome.
The main purpose of G.T.D. Bernoulli is to promote contact between the students themselves and the Department of Chemical Engineering. In addition, we try to maintain good contact with the business community and to give students a picture of what is possible in the field of Chemical Engineering by excursions and symposia. Also, our periodically magazine, the Groningenieur contributes to this.
G.T.D. Bernoulli organizes excursions, lectures, field trips and other activities for its members. Each year, four to five excursions take place to one of the major chemical companies or engineering firms. G.T.D. Bernoulli is also part of joint activities with different student associations. There is an excursion organized which is called the OSTS, Overleg Scheikundig Technologische Studieverenigingen, with the other chemical engineering associations from different cities. The other associations are Alembic from Enschede, TG from Delft and Japie from Eindhoven. This joint excursion lasts several days and different companies will be visited. Also the Masters of Engineering is annually organized along with T.F.V. Professor Francken and T.B.V. Lugus. In addition to excursions, there are overview lectures on research within the working groups of the cluster. Bernoulli participates in the ß-bedrijvendagen and joint almanac of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. All activities are organized by students. If you are interested or if you would like to become a member, you can come to the coffee corner in Feringa building between buildings 14 and 15, or subscribe online. You will be kept informed of the activities through social media, the mail and the periodic of G.T.D. Bernoulli, "the Groningenieur".
